The Templates Collection is a companion help guide to Manual of Style. They both provide the bulk of the information on what is permitted and how to do it. There is much covered here, and while most of it is somewhat common sense, it always helps to take another work.

Important notes:

  • Not all fields need to be filled in the infoboxes and it is okay to leave them blank. Headings included in examples on this page are optional, if they are not useful. Any heading that doesn't have a use does not need to be included in a article.
  • The objective of this page is to make it easy to copy/paste what you need. Don't hold back.
  • Anything you can't find information here might have been overlooked, or simply hasn't been done yet. If you need information on anything, contact a admin.

Crew Articles[]

This is for formatting of all types of crew articles.

Important Notes:

  • In only cases there isn't clear credits, being ThunderCats (original series), SilverHawks Animated Series, and TigerSharks Animated Series; is it deemed okay to do some guesswork. It is better to leave a credit off if not known/common. Official Crew Sites/Pages, IMDb, Wikipedia, fansites, are valid due to the lack of strong resources on the subject. Please cite the source of the credit if not IMDb.
  • "Notable Credits" are credits to other shows, films, and such. Listing five notable credits is pretty much what is needed. Use IMDb and/or Wikipedia and pick iconic roles. Also, try to pick them so that they represent their career timeline, and different abilities.
  • Not all fields need to be filled in a infobox (meaning it is okay to leave them some blank).
  • Headings included in examples on this page are optional, if they are not useful. Any heading that doesn't have a use does not need to be included in a article.

Merchandise Articles[]

This section cover formatting and category tree notes. This is a rather hard subject to cover as what is known and what is important for item to item varies greatly.

Article Formatting:
In the past, the wiki was swamped with different ideas for how to organize the content for a given item. This section aims to limit that and streamline article creation. However, some merchandise requires different fields due to terms and other differences.

Important Note:

  • Images that are promo should be noted as such in the gallery.
  • The Image in Infobox should be of the item in its packaging on the front. This isn't always do-able, but it is the preferred choice.

Category System[]

Understanding placements and the category tree. Three major perspectives of using Categories that ThunderCats Wiki will focus on which are: Media, Type, and time of release. Going by these three perspectives lowers category tags, thereby reduces flooded categories that become cumbersome to go through. It is also better to make categories for a company line of items and then tag all those items in the company category only.

By Media[]

Almost all ThunderCats/SilverHawks/TigerSharks merchandise has a clear media it is based on.

Toylines[]

Toylines go in one or more of the following:

All Toylines go under these:

  • Merchandise (original series)
    • Toylines (original series)
  • Merchandise (2011 TV series)

By Time of Release[]

While not a great deal of waves of merchandise have been released over the years, there is clearly a difference between original era merchandise and the nostalgia releases.

So two labels are used: "Original Merchandise" (1985-90's) and "Modern Merchandise" (2000's-today). It is assumed after the foreign markets had all released the shows and merchandise, that from the 90's to 2001, there was no releases of merchandise (Wildstorm Comics in 2002 started the nostalgia releases). Much like "type", these categories are for inclusion on lines of merchandise articles and one-offs without lines.

Foreign Markets[]

Lots of different terms and grey area here, so please take your time understanding how this works. If you can't understand something here, don't hesitate to ask a admin. Some things are case by case.

Anything released that is aimed at a market other than America is considered Foreign Markets merchandise. Sometimes they are original and other times they manufactured for the location exclusively. While many times this might amount to a release being the same, but with changes in translation on the packaging, it can influence and appeal to some audiences. This wiki aims to represent all aspects of ThunderCats including foreign markets.

Terms to consider when working on a article about merchandise of this nature is if it is solely a translation (distributors) or if the item was produced in that country or for that country exclusively (distributing manufacturers). Another key issue if the merchandise in question was made in America as well as the market it is in.

Category System for Foreign Markets[]

There are two category tags to figure out. The first for merchandise distributed that has American counterparts. Articles need to be made for distributors and distributing manufacturers. These will also list merchandise sold at the location that distributor is at. The category tag system for that:

  • Foreign Markets Merchandise (By Company that Licensed out Distributors and Distributing Manufacturers)
  • Main category for American Company it is based on
    • Distributors and Distributing Manufacturers (American Company it is based on)
      • The Company that is a distributor and/or distributing manufacturer

The second is for the country or territory it is for. Here is a link to see them.
