Third Earth is the home planet of a wide variety of sentient humanoid animals and other creatures of both native and alien origins. It became the home of the Thunderians after Mumm-Ra's ship crash landed many years ago.
From views of the night sky, Third Earth appears to orbit a larger planet which seems to be a gas giant. There is also another planetoid visible in the sky, although it is unknown if this orbits Third Earth or is another moon of the gas giant. If it is, Third Earth may be named for the fact that it is the third of these planetary bodies.
