Family Guy[]
- Episode: "Brian Wallows and Peter's Swallows" (January 17, 2002) is from season 3 of the series. In the musical number "You've Got a Lot to See", after Tom Tucker says "There's lots of things you may have missed", one of the noted things that is said by Neil Goldman "That awesome ThunderCats cartoon".
- Movie: "Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story" (September 27, 2005) is a direct-to-DVD animated movie. Appearing in segment "Bango Was His Name Oh", in a cut-away, Lion-O briefly interacts with Cheetara before she notes she needs to use the bathroom. Lion-O peeps on Cheetara using "Sight Beyond Sight" sword action with the Sword of Omens. Snarf walks in and interrupts him, then Lion-O offers to Snarf go get wasted with him. Note that Larry Kenney and Lynne Lipton reprise their roles for the joke.
- Episode: "The Man with Two Brians" (November 9, 2008) is from season 7 of the series. In a scene where Cleveland is walking Brian, Cleveland states "Sorry, but there is a leash law in the neighborhood, and you never know who is watching."; this is followed up with a cut-away to Mumm-Ra watching Brian and Cleveland from his cauldron laughing and making light of him watching Brian use the bathroom.
- Episode: "Road to the Multiverse" (September 27, 2009) is from season 8 of the series. Stewie and Brian visit the Robot Chicken universe which shows Lion-O among other characters from cartoons, which Chris notes means they exist in their universe.
- Episode: "April in Quahog" (April 11, 2010) is from season 8 of the series. Stewie plays with action figures while noting they are homoerotic. One of the two figures was Lion-O, the other being He-Man.
- Episode: "German Guy" (February 20, 2011) is from season 9 of the series. Peter, making fun of Meg says to Herbert "Thunder thighs are on the move, Thunder thighs are loose" is a parody to the lyrics to the ThunderCats theme song.
- Episode: "Baby Got Black" (April 27, 2014) is from season 12 of the series. Quagmire, Peter, and Joe wager each other over who can stay awake the longest. While at hour sixty-two, Quagmire hallucinates that Joe has turned into Cheetara and can now walk, do flips and spin rings. It somewhat is like Cheetara running in the ThunderCats 1985 series intro.
- Episode: "Three Directors" (November 5, 2017) is from season 16 of the series. Peter, seeking revenge on Angela for murdering his family, gets out the Sword of Omens. He heads to the Brewery where Angela was. He used the Sword of Omens to kill all the Tricia Takanawas before slicing Angela in half. He finished the segment by chopping off the top of the golden keg with the sword.
Robot Chicken[]
- Segment: "Supervillains in Traffic" From episode: "Toyz in the Hood" (March 20, 2005) which features Mumm-Ra and Lion-O. Setting of the clip is of a group of four villains that are carpooling to work, but get stuck in traffic. Later, a car of heroes are also in traffic, but unlike them gets through traffic quicker.
- Segment: "Where Are They Now?" From episode: "Toy Meets Girl" (May 01, 2005) which features Lion-O, WilyKat, WilyKit, Panthro, Cheetara, and Snarf. Lion-O can be seen outside of his trailer along with brief appearances of WilyKat and WilyKit, he is drinking a beer while holding a gun. Lion-O, inside the trailer, explains that Mumm-Ra died of testicular cancer which then forced the ThunderCats to have to go find real jobs. Lion-O had been a male dancer at a club before going to construction work, Panthro is in jail for selling junk bonds to senior citizens and then eating them, Snarf went missing, and Cheetara is with Lion-O becoming a true cat lady (she has cats all over her bedroom).
- Segment: "Lion-O Gets Adopted" From episode: "Federated Resources" (December 09, 2005) which features Lion-O. Lion-O finds himself on Earth after a space vortex opened on Thundera. A girl named Vicky then adopts him and takes him to school for show in tell. Lion-O gets violent with anyone disrespecting Vicky, which she doesn't approve of. She uses a spray bottle on him whenever he gets out of line, but ultimately takes him back to the pound. Later, he is adopted by an old woman that puts a silly pink bow around his neck.
- Segment: "Mumm-Ra is Mrs. Mumbletipeg" From episode: "Endless Breadsticks" (September 16, 2008) which features Lion-O, Cheetara, Mumm-Ra, Snarf, Jaga, WilyKit, WilyKat, Panthro, Tygra, and Slithe. Snarf is killed in a freak summoning accident and Mumm-Ra takes advantage of the situation by disguising himself as Mrs. Mumbletipeg (a parody of Mrs. Doubtfire) in an attempt to kill Lion-O but gets foiled when caught having a private moment. Mumm-Ra gets his bandages caught on the stuffed body of Snarf and begins to spin as the bandages unravel.
- Segment: "Ma-Mutt is Hungry" From episode: "Endless Breadsticks" (September 16, 2008) which features Ma-Mutt. Ma-Mutt looks at his empty food bowl and howls.
- Segment: "Thunder" From episode: "But Not In That Way" (February 02, 2009) which features Lion-O. Lion-O gives the weather which he notes storm possibilities as "Thunder".
- Segment: "The Nerd in Oz" From episode: "Cannot Be Erased, So Sorry" (September 06, 2009) which features Lion-O. A nerd has a dream where he is following along the plot to The Wizard of Oz, and Lion-O is the Cowardly Lion of the group. Lion-O defeated some of the flying monkeys by saying "Thunder" a lot, causing a funnel from the Sword of Omens. Lion-O and the others defeated the Wicked Witch by urinating on her. They all then got transported to a French topless beach.
- Segment: "Nicky Passion" From episode: "Malcolm X: Fully Loaded" (February 06, 2011) which features mummy form Mumm-Ra. He appears towards the end in a scooter. Later when leaving, the host Nicky Passion steps on Mumm-Ra's loose mummy bandage on the ground, which caused him to go naked off-screen.
- Segment: "Sidekick Elevator" From episode: "Major League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" (February 13, 2011) which features Snarf. Snarf is in a elevator when he is joined by Orko. In both of their minds, they think the other is a pathetic loser. Then Gleek comes in and they start really hating him in their minds.
- Segment: "Summoning the Sword of Omens" From episode: "Botched Jewel Heist" (January 27, 2013) which features the ThunderTank, Panthro, Lion-O, the Cat's Lair, WilyKat, WilyKit, Cheetara, and Tygra. While out in the desert, Panthro notes that Lion-O had forgotten the Sword of Omens. Lion-O summons the sword to come to his hand, which then the sword leaves his bedroom, goes through the Cat's Lair, impaling the Thunderkittens to a wall, before flying out of the Cat's Lair in front of Cheetara and Tygra, knocking them over. The Sword of Omens ends up in Lion-O's hand, all covered in blood.
- Segment: "Nothing But Animals" From episode: "Choked on a Bottle Cap" (February 10, 2013) which features the Cat's Lair, Lion-O, Panthro, Tygra, Jaga, Cheetara, WilyKit, and Snarf. The plot is that Cheetara and WilyKit are in heat, and they have been locked up in a room and the rest of the ThunderCats are outside the room. Lion-O uses Sight Beyond Sight with the Sword of Omens to briefly watch Cheetara. Jaga twice warns them to stay away from the women, but the ThunderCats give in and go in the room. Snarf is seen with the two gals and has clearly been involved.
- Segment: "First Draft Battle Cry" From episode: "Rebel Appliance" (May 04, 2014) which features Lion-O, WilyKit, WilyKat, Snarf, Panthro, and Cheetara. Lion-O tries to come up with a battle cry which turns into him embarrassingly listing the ThunderCats and explaining what the sword does. He goes on and on until he sorta runs out of steam, Snarf says he likes it and WilyKat slaps him for the sarcastic optimism.
- Segment: "Girl Code" From episode: "Up, Up, and Buffet" (June 01, 2014) which features Cheetara. She briefly is interviewed and she notes all she gets on her phone is double entendres about female anatomy.
American Dad![]
- Episodes: "Stan of Arabia" parts 1 and 2 (November 6 and 13, 2005) is from season 2 of the series. Stan got a second wife, whom he names Thundercat, who has a rivalry with Francine.
MAD[]
- Segment: "Super 80's" From episode: "Super 80's / Captain America's Got Talent" (August 29, 2011) which features Lion-O. Lion-O appeared taking away J.J. Abrams alongside with Donkey Kong (with Mario on his back), Allstar Seaworthy and Dimmy Finster.
- Segment: "ThunderLOLcats" From episode: "Cowboys & Alien Force / ThunderLOLcats" (September 26, 2011) which features Claudus, Lion-O (as Lion-LOL), Tygra, Panthro, and Mumm-Ra (as Troll-Ra). The segment is an overall parody of the 2011 ThunderCats series, where the kingdom of Thundera is attacked by internet memes. Note that Will Friedle reprises his role for the segment.
- Segment: "ThunderPants" From episode: "WWe Bought a ZOO / 2 Broke Powerpuff Girls" (January 30, 2012) which features Tygra and Cheetara. The segment advertises underpants that saves yourself from the embarrassment of embarrassing moments.
- Segment: "The Tonight Show with Jay Lion-O" From episode: "My Little War Horse / The Tonight Show with Jay Lion-O" (February 13, 2012) which features Lion-O (as Jay Lion-O), Tygra, Panthro, WilyKit, WilyKat, Snarf, Cheetara, Grune, and Mumm-Ra. Jay Lion-O welcomes his guest Ryan Gosling (who is starring in Crazy, Stupid, LOLcats with Cheetara), and treats the audience to a musical performance by Mumm-Ra & Sons. Jay also takes to the streets in his "Catwalking" segment, where humiliates people by asking them "simple questions".
- Segment: "ThunderCats Barbershop Quartet" From episode: "Here Comes the Doom / Brain Purge" (November 29, 2012) which features Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Tygra, Panthro, Snarf, Jaga, and WilyKat. The ThunderCats sing instead of fighting Mumm-Ra, much to latter's confusion.
Saturday Night Live[]
- Season 40, Episode (September 27, 2014) sketch "Birthday Wish" features Lion-O as portrayed by Taran Killam. The plot is that Danny wishes his toys He-Man and Lion-O were alive. In the beginning of the skit, Matty version Lion-O toy is shown.
Teen Titans Go![]
- Episode: "Halloween" (October 30, 2014) is from season 2 of the series. The episode features a flashback to Halloween from the prior year showing off the Teen Titans dressed up as ThunderCats.
Glitch Techs[]
- Episode: "Smashozaurs" (February 21, 2020) has a concept of "Smashozaurs" a game in world that features a logo based on triceratops which mimics the color scheme of the ThunderCats. The same homage can be seen briefly on the wall in a picture at Geri's shop in Episode "Ping" (August 17, 2020).
Rick and Morty[]
- Episode: "Never Ricking Morty" (May 03, 2020) is from season 4 of the series. Jesus says "Father of omens! Give me blood beyond sight!" a reference to "Sword of Omens, give me Sight Beyond Sight!".
Space Jam: A New Legacy[]
- Movie: "Space Jam: A New Legacy" (July 16, 2021), Lion-O and Cheetara appear as extras. They can be seen coming in among other characters (running/jumping near Yogi Bear, Flintstones car, Jabberjaw, and Gremlins). At the game, they can be seen left of one of the hoops.
Animaniacs[]
- Episode 26, segment "80's Cats" (November 05, 2021) is from season 2 of the Animaniacs reboot series. The 40 second segment is an overall parody of the 1985 ThunderCats intro including the music. Yakko takes the role of Lion-O, Dot is a hybrid between Cheetara and Tygra, and Wakko is a hybrid between Panthro and Snarf.
Solar Opposites[]
- Episode: "Hululand" (July 13, 2022) which features Ma-Mutt. During a dream that Tim was having, towards the end he was picked up by Ma-Mutt to leave for a adventure in Central America. They fly for a bit when in real life he starts to die from lead poisoning.
