The Disintegrator is a weapon used in episode "Gold Shield" of the SilverHawks Series.
History[]
The Disintegrator was kept in the armory, which is part of the Bedlama Space Trooper Headquarters. Timestopper with Buzz-Saw came to the armory to steal the Disintegrator, and to give them time to perform the task and stop the guard, Timestopper stopped time for one minute and took the weepon. Later, Timestopper and Buzz-Saw saw a armored space vehicle that was going to the planet of Dolare to deliver gold bars. With one blast of the Disintegrator, the armored space vehicle starts coming apart, leaving the gold bars in the center still together. Buzz-Saw picks the bars up to take. After bringing the gold bars to Mon*Star, he next orders to go to HawkHaven to blast it. Mon*Star transforms and follows Timestopper riding the Sky-Runner. Next, they run into the Space Hack, and Timestopper uses the Disintegrator on it, leaving Seymour floating in space. Later, the Steel Twins figure out that the Disintegrator doesn't work on gold, so they ask for any gold they can get to build a gold shield. Stargazer metal parts are gold, so he gives the twins the spare parts he has on hand. The twins build a shield on the front of Copper Kid's Space Racer. Stargazer then later joined the SilverHawks as they were getting for the Space Racer to go out and battle the Mob with that Disintegrator. Stargazer then takes the Space Racer noting that Quicksilver wasn't gold, but he was which means the Disintegrator can't disintegrate him. He goes out and while Mon*star managed to knock Stargazer off the Space Racer, the Disintegrator laser refracted off the gold back to the limo, hitting it. Timestopper ended up floating in space and the Road-Star and Buzz-Saw started disintegrating. The Disintegrator spinning out of control also hit both Mon*Star and his Sky-Runner. Both lost their armor. The status of the Disintegrator was left unknown.
Physical Description[]
Majority of the long laser is colored like a orange/gold.
Powers and Abilities[]
It's main function was to make inanimate objects disintegrate into their component pieces. It was found to have one weakness, it didn't work on anything made of gold. It also has a built in targeting system with a viewer.
